L.I. Homecare Workers Hold First 1199SEIU Picnic

Over 150 Long Island home care workers turned out for the first 1199SEIU picnic in Eisenhower State Park, held on July 11th. The tables were shaded by trees, allowing members to escape the sun while they enjoyed burgers, hot dogs and other treats. Children played ball games and got their faces painted. “It was so great to see so many other homecare workers,” said Twannana Wheeler of People Care. “Now we need to come together to fight for our rights.”
