Immigrant workers are due the same protection and dignity under the law that citizen workers receive. Immigrants work hard, pay taxes, and raise families alongside U.S.-born Americans. Their basic civil rights and liberties should be upheld, work should be respected and rewarded, and they should not face penalties for working under a flawed "guest worker" program.
A growing movement in this country recognizes that our federal immigration laws need improvement. A bi-partisan plan to overhaul our broken immigration policies was recently introduced in Congress.
