iSpeak: Worst Oil Spill In U.S. History

How has the British Petroleum oil disaster in the Gulf of Mexico – the worst oil spill in U.S. history – affected your opinion about governmental oversight of corporations and about offshore oil drilling?

The subprime mortgage debacle and the Gulf oil spill are major examples of the need for more government regulation and oversight. Yet the corporate right will continue to fight for less government regulation.

More to be done by our government is not the answer. Our government can’t keep shoes on our children. The government cannot educate our children, We cannot let government do this. It is too big a task.

I think that there were not enough safety measures in place. No plans B,C, and D. They can drill, only in not so deep waters.
