iSpeak: Summer Vacation Plans

With summer upon us, has the economy affected your vacation plans? If so, how?

Yes, it definitely has. I will be spending more time with my grandsons and having staycations. I have a camper and will be spending family time on the beach. I think we all need a lot more family time. In that way, I am truly blessed to share my good fortune (family-wise) close to home.

I could never afford a vacation every year. My daughter and son-in-law bought me a ticket overseas to meet my new granddaughter. I am trying to save something so I can see them next year when they are back in the states. Vacation pay would help--at least enough for our weekly hours. When I go, I miss out on the two weeks without pay.

Yes, it has. My salary is the same--no increase--bills are rising monthly and so are the costs of airline tickets. So, yes. the economy has altered my plans for vacation.
